Humans of Donousa

An explicit tribute to the famous Humans of New York photoblog, this summer series is shot in Donousa, a small island in the Lesser Cyclades complex, Greece. The island bears absolutely no resemblance to New York of course; it’s isolation and 160 inhabitants make it actually a popular destination for campers and short-term escapists.

And nothing happens in Donousa, really. Life is routinely simple, with laid-back protagonists starring on a looping summer play. Don’t expect spectators here, just the natural elements: sun, sea, wind.

Instead of adopting the interview-based approach of the famous blog, this black and white series follows a reverse discipline, where the objects are given the freedom to reveal themselves under the always-forgiving backdrop of the sea. Humans of Donousa, is a snapshot of their story.
